IOC report released

The Integrity and Oversight Committee made 31 recommendations addressing the adequacy of IBAC’s current legislative framework.

4 December 2025

Parliament's Integrity and Oversight Committee has today released its report examining the adequacy of IBAC’s current legislative framework — a timely look at whether the tools and powers given to Victoria’s anti-corruption body are still fit for purpose.

The committee makes 31 recommendations that include expanding the definition of corrupt conduct, clarifying definitions in the IBAC Act, expanding IBAC's investigation powers, giving IBAC the power to hold public inquiries for education and prevention purposes, amending confidentiality provisions, undertaking a comprehensive review of Victoria's current public interest disclosure (whistleblowing) scheme, changes to police oversight and referrals and many others.

Integrity Oversight Victoria is pleased to have been part of the IOC’s inquiry process and looks forward to the government’s response, which is due in 6 months.
